Cedar Bay is a very special area of the Wet Tropics. Inaccessible by road, its remote, white sand beaches and calm, blue waters are can only be seen by walkers and those arriving by sea. Supplied with fresh water streams flowing from the upland rainforest, this out-of-the-way paradise is a travellers dream retreat for a few days. Due to the length of the walk (24 kilometres, 8 hours), other walkers are seldom encountered You will need to obtain a camping permit.

HOW TO GET THERE:
The Cedar Bay North Track leaves from Home Rule

Take the turnoff south to Helenvale from the Cooktown Developmental Road, about 2 kilometres south of Black Mountain. Continue through Helenvale and Rossville. About 3 kilometres past Rossville is a turnoff on your left to Home Rule. Another 3 kilometres to the homestead and access to Cedar Bay North.
